I am pleased to announce that Sen. Marco Rubio (R, Florida), has been reported today by the Associated Press to have formulated a new immigration plan that appears, at least to the very liberal AP, to be “the answer to the election-year prayers of the GOP – and Mitt Romney” and that appears, to this writer, to be virtually identical to two of the four key elements of the plan that I proposed in this blog on March 25, 2012.
I would not want to suggest that great minds think alike, but I do think the senator shows a lot of promise. The only elements of the blog piece that were not mentioned in the Rubio press release were the securing of our borders and the modification of our immigration quotas to favor admission of successful or talented people regardless of national origin, and I would not be surprised if it developed that Sen. Rubio is in favor of these recommendations as well.
Perhaps you should send a link to Sen. Rubio about your blog post? I’m sure he’d be happy to know that his idea is already in favor somewhere.
